Three appointed to Singapore's Presidential Council for Minority Rights

    THE Singapore President has appointed three persons to the Presidential Council for Minority Rights with effect from April 1.

    They are: Archbishop William Goh Seng Chye, Shaikh Syed Isa Mohamed Semait and Surjit Singh.

    The appointments of the three members are for a three-year term.

    Except for Archbishop Goh, the new members were presented their appointment letters and sworn in at the Istana on Thursday.

    They took their oaths before Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon.

    Archbishop Goh was sworn in by the Chief Justice at a separate ceremony on Wednesday.
