TOKYO governor Yuriko Koike and her newly launched "Tokyo Citizens First" party were headed on Sunday night for a decisive victory in a Tokyo Metropolitan Government election whose outcome is seen as threatening the hold on power of Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
Exit polls showed Ms Koike's party on track to win 48 to 50 seats in the 127-seat assembly where election results often mirror the national political mood.
