DONALD Trump's road to securing the Republican presidential nomination got longer after Tuesday's primaries in five states. Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton's got shorter. The Republican front-runner didn't get the sweep he wanted, losing Ohio to Governor John Kasich. Mr Trump's latest political victim, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, was beaten badly by the billionaire in his home state and suspended his campaign.
The split decision on Mr Trump in the two most critical states in Tuesday's voting increased the possibility that Republicans could be headed for a potentially chaotic national convention in Cleveland in July. Mr Trump has predicted "riots" if Republican power-brokers deny him the presidential nomination in Cleveland even if he's leading in the delegate count, but falls short of a majority of 1,237.
