[WASHINGTON] US President Donald Trump on Thursday stepped up pressure on Jerome Powell to cut interest rates, the White House said, describing his first sit-down with the chairman of the Federal Reserve since his return to office.
Trump said “he believes the Fed chair is making a mistake by not lowering interest rates, which is putting us at an economic disadvantage to China and other countries,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters in Washington. AFP
