Twists and turns in filling WP's NCMP seat
Singapore
THE Workers' Party (WP) succeeded on Friday in getting a parliamentary seat left vacant by one of its members filled by another member - but not before the WP representatives abstained from voting for the motion that they had set forth themselves.
Central to the WP's turnabout was the addition of amendment clauses by People's Action Party (PAP) whip Chan Chun Sing to the motion to fill the Non-Constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) seat.
