THE UK referendum on whether to remain in or exit the European Union (EU) could take place in June next year, if Prime Minister David Cameron obtains agreement on most reform proposals.
With uncertainty increasing on potential British exit from the EU ("Brexit"), sterling weakened to just over US$1.50, the lowest level in six months, while the euro also rallied slightly against the pound.
