THERE is still a glimmer of hope that the European Union (EU) and the United Kingdom can strike a trade deal ahead of the final deadline on Sunday to do so.
For that to happen, however, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will have to back down and agree to a compromise. The EU's red lines, meanwhile, are unchanged.
