THE tighter restrictions in the UK to deal with the spread of the highly infectious Omicron variant of the coronavirus will further damage the travel, retail, conventions and entertainment sectors, economists warned.
These worries have worsened after British Prime Minister Boris Johnson imposed a so-called "Plan B" in response to warnings by scientists that the UK is on track to reach 1 million Omicron cases by Dec 31.
