US and China corporate leaders to discuss rocky economic ties

LEADERS of major American companies with deep ties to China are due to meet on Tuesday with their Chinese counterparts to try to ease their increasingly rocky economic relationship.
Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross will host a day-long meeting in Washington with more than 20 business leaders from the United States and China. The session will be brokered by Jack Ma, executive chairman of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba, and Stephen A. Schwarzman, a co-founder of the private-equity firm the Blackstone Group and an adviser to President Donald Trump.
