US job market has been resilient in current tightening cycle: Federal Reserve’s Barkin

FEDERAL Reserve Bank of Richmond President Thomas Barkin said on Thursday he is expecting some rise in unemployment as part of the central bank’s work to lower unemployment.
But he said evidence was building that the job market will not suffer as much relative to past Fed efforts to cool inflation. But he added that inflation must come down to ensure good prospects for the job market down the road.
