US kills top ISIS commander in Syria
Washington
THE United States killed a top Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) commander in Syria who was believed to be in line to lead the terrorist group, defence officials said on Friday.
The killing of Abd al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, who is also known by other names, comes as the US is having increased success targeting the ISIS leadership. The US Justice Department had offered up to US$7 million for information leading to the senior ISIS official. The ISIS command structure remains secret and several other individuals are on a US wanted list.
