[HO CHI MINH CITY] Vietnam tech company FPT is seeking a larger foothold in the global software supply chain for smart vehicles with the launch of FPT Automotive in Texas, US, on Wednesday (Dec 13).
FPT said it will invest up to US$100 million in the next five years into the new business, as it seeks to take advantage of a growing role for software in vehicles.
Tapping a global team of 4,000 automotive software engineers and experts, the new unit will provide solutions catering to tier-1 suppliers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and chipmakers that are getting ready for “future-ready” and “software-defined” vehicles.
