Vietnam's September exports dip 0.6%, industrial output down 5.5%
[HANOI] Vietnam's exports in September likely fell 0.6 per cent from a year earlier to US$27 billion, government data released on Wednesday showed.
The country's imports in September rose 9.5 per cent to US$26.5 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of US$500 million for the month, the General Statistics Office (GSO) said in a statement.
For the first nine months of 2021, exports likely rose 18.8 per cent year-on-year to US$240.52 billion and imports by 30.5 per cent to US$242.66 billion, translating into a trade deficit of US$2.16 billion.
Vietnam's industrial production index in September fell 5.5 per cent from a year earlier, the GSO said, adding that consumer prices in the month rose 2.06 per cent year on year.
