Wee Siew Kim to be appointed chairman of Jurong Port from Oct 1

JURONG Port on Thursday announced that Wee Siew Kim, the group chief executive officer of Nipsea Group and co-president of Nippon Paint Holdings, will be appointed as its chairman of the board from Oct 1.
Mr Wee will take over from Ng Chee Keong, who has served as chairman of the Jurong Port board since October 2016.
In a press statement, Jurong Port said Mr Ng has led the port operator through "a significant period of transformation".
"Mr Wee brings a wealth of experience serving different organisations in various capacities. His rich and diverse experience in leadership positions will be key in steering Jurong Port in its next chapter of transformation and growth," it said.
Prior to his roles at Nipsea Group and Nippon Paint, Mr Wee held various engineering, business development and management appointments in Singapore Technologies Group.
He also currently serves on the boards of Mapletree Logistics Trust Management, SIA Engineering Company and Singapore Telecommunications.
Mr Wee was formerly chairman of ES Group, as well as a director of SBS Transit and Changi Airports International.
