World Bank sends chilling message on global warming
Tokyo
A NEW report from the World Bank on climate change says that 100 million new people are likely to swell the ranks of those already living in poverty as a result of climate change that is destined to happen unless drastic actions are taken by governments.
The report, published on Sunday, paints a chilling picture of increasing natural disasters, heat waves, floods and droughts as well as crop failures and a rising incidence of disease - all of which will impact the world's poor in particular.
