WP says it can help build a more united Singapore
The party, calling for more opposition voices, covers wide range of topics at its rally, from living costs to the govt's need to ease up on its push for economic growth

AT the Workers' Party's rally in Serangoon Stadium on Tuesday evening, one member of the team defending the Aljunied group representation constituency (GRC) praised civil servants for being fair to the opposition, while another accused them of being used by the People's Action Party (PAP) to "nail down" the opposition.
Pritam Singh said he was "proud" of the apolitical stance taken by civil servants - including teachers, the police and the army - who are the "pillars" of Singapore. He praised them for staying neutral and for being helpful to residents in the five-member GRC.
