Audemars Piguet present floral clock for SG50
SWISS watchmaker Audemars Piguet and Gardens by the Bay jointly unveiled Singapore's largest and only floral clock on Tuesday.
Situated in the Gardens between the conservatories and the Supertree Grove, the botanical timepiece comemmorates the nation's Golden Jubilee. Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan, along with Dr Kiat W Tan, CEO of Gardens by the Bay, and Mr Oliviero Bottinelli, member of the board of directors, Audemars Piguet Holding SA, helped to draw back the curtains at 6pm to unveil the floral clock to the public. "We can now relive and create new memories here at the Gardens as we celebrate with the nation," said Dr Tan.
The installation, measuring 7 metres in diameter, features a mix of annual and perennial plants that will change the floral clock's appearance over time. As ageing blooms are weeded out, they will be replaced by new and different plants, ensuring the public gets a different experience each time they view the clock.
