EVEN the best Hollywood movie director would have found it tough to conjure up such a dramatic script with a fairytale ending.

It's the amazing story of how a star-studded English football team, valued at £175 million (S$316.2 million), were ousted from Euro 2016 by Iceland, the tiniest nation to ever compete in the tournament's 56-year history.

Social media went berserk not long after Iceland, playing at a major tournament for the first time, engineered one of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport on Monday evening (Tuesday morning, Singapore time).
