AFTER almost 20 years in one of Singapore's oldest movie companies, Suhaimi Rafdi is moving on.
The chief executive officer of Cathay Organisation will be leaving on Feb 20, according to an e-mail sent out by managing director Choo Meileen to business associates on Monday. Ms Choo will resume the responsibilities that she had assigned him when she appointed him as CEO in 2008.
Ms Choo declined to comment further, but Mr Suhaimi, when contacted, said that he wants to "pursue other interests" after he leaves Cathay. "It has been a remarkable 20 years at Cathay and I learnt all my management and business skills there. There is never a right moment to leave, but I have been doing a lot of grassroots work which has been very enriching so if the opportunity exists I would like to establish this as a second career."
