WOMEN have come a long way since the 1900s. From living in largely suppressed and patriarchal societies to becoming more empowered in their fight for gender equality today, women have much to be proud of.

Today, International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrating its 106th year. IWD falls on March 8 every year and is a day marking the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women around the world.

As we commemorate this special day, we look at how three Asian women have overcome challenges they've faced in the workplace and what they think lie ahead for women in the future.
