Free apps: To allow or not to allow? That is the question

A free app may be tempting, but you could be paying for it with personal data. Looking more closely at the permissions and the access you give it could make all the difference

IT seems simple enough. You see an application on Google that catches your attention, tap "install", and forthwith it appears on your device.

But hold your horses. The conundrum comes when you attempt to open the app, and a message pops up, requesting you to divulge personal details before granting you access.

Now, to give or not to give. That is the question.

I caved in once, and regretted it when a deluge of phishing mails hit my inbox faster than I could delete them.
