Les Amis and Odette make Michelin history
They are the first Singapore brands to earn 3 Michelin stars since the Singapore guide was established in 2016.
CHRISTMAS came early for Singapore's F&B industry as the Michelin guide honoured 44 restaurants including two new three-star winners in an exhilarating, celebratory Tuesday night that was a far cry from the sombreness of last year's awards.
At The Capella in Sentosa, Les Amis and Odette became newly-minted three stars, creating history as the first Singapore brands to earn such an accolade. Since the Singapore guide was established in 2016, only Restaurant Joel Robuchon - a venture with the late French restaurateur - achieved three stars right off the bat.
Les Amis, on the other hand, is the flagship restaurant of the Les Amis Group. Odette is part of local hospitality and F&B group Lo & Behold. Singapore now trails Hong Kong's seven three-star restaurants, but is ahead of Bangkok which has none as yet.
