Making a splash for a good cause
Singapore
CITY Developments Limited (CDL) group chief executive Sherman Kwek made a splash for a good cause at the dunking machine during the Assisi Fun Day on Sunday. His effort alone raised S$183,846 from CDL's business partners and visitors to the carnival, with the funds going towards supporting Assisi Hospice's patients who need palliative care and their families.
Last year, Mr Kwek went the extra mile for the hospice by peddling a trishaw to raise funds. The Assisi Fun Day is the hospice's biggest fundraising event of the year. Sunday's event, held at SJI International in Thomson Road, was attended by Education Minister Ong Ye Kung and Temasek Holdings chief executive Ho Ching, who is also patron of the hospice.
