Making hope spring eternal for children

Make-A-Wish Foundation is not a factory granting last wishes to kids. Instead, it grants wishes to lift the spirits of those fighting life-threatening diseases.

LIFETIME memory - not last wish, is Make-A-Wish Foundation's ethos that drives what the foundation creates. When someone below 18 years of age with a life-threatening illness is referred to the non-profit organisation, they can help fulfil their wish - but not because it may be the child's last.

Make-A-Wish maintains that the purpose of the wish is to keep the child feeling positive as he or she undergoes treatment, and that they will never know when a child's last wish will be.

"When a person is happier, they tend to heal faster. And they tend to heal better," says Apple Lee, Make-A-Wish's community engagement manager.
