Many corals dead or dying on Barrier Reef: scientists

Dying coral colonised by seaweed at Lizard Island during the current bleaching event on the Great Barrier Reef. The current mass bleaching, due to global warming, is much more extreme.


AT LEAST 35 per cent of corals in the northern and central regions of Australia's Great Barrier Reef are dead or dying from a mass bleaching event, scientists said on Monday.
