Maybank Singapore raises S$500,000 for President's Challenge

LAST Saturday, Maybank Singapore staff and corporate donors joined hands to raise S$500,000 for the President's Challenge 2018 at its annual Global Corporate Responsibility (CR) Day at the Marina Barrage.

Held for the ninth time, Maybank's Global CR Day saw Maybank employees volunteer at the event to set up 20 carnival booths to raise funds and promote various social causes.

These built on prior efforts, where Maybank staff had worked with the four social service organisations on 50 community service activities across August and September. This included home improvement and mural painting projects, among others.

The guest of honour for the Global CR Day was Speaker of Parliament and adviser to the Community Chest,Tan Chuan Jin.

He was presented the cheque for the funds raised in support of Lions Befrienders, Montfort Care, Institute of Mental Health and MINDS by country chief executive officer and CEO of Maybank Singapore, John Lee. The Global CR Day culminated with a charity carnival and a night walk at the Marina Barrage. The bank's customers were also invited to join Maybank employees in the night walk .

In addition, attendees to the carnival were also encouraged to made donations towards President's Challenge, where donations were made through PayNow QR Codes.

This year, over 20,000 Maybank employees globally have taken part in the Maybank Global CR Day.
