ANYONE who has asked me what a good smartphone is has walked away being recommended Google's Pixel range, among other models.
Having said that, Google's hardware - where phones are concerned, at least - hasn't had a stellar track record.
Its early Nexus line of smartphones was affordable, had great software but were constantly beset by poor cameras and battery life. I know, I've owned several.
