Mini Cooper SE: A Mini contribution to climate health
The all-electric Mini Cooper SE brings a refreshing dose of youthful style to an increasingly-crowded electric car market
Miami
I'D IMAGINE that Greta Thunberg won't be driving a car to her environmental protests any time soon, not least because she's still too young to have a driving license. But if, in a few years, she changes her mind and decides to do what every teenager does when they get their licence, a car like the Mini Cooper SE might make for a good choice.
The Cooper SE is the first fully-electric Mini model for Joe Public, and you can buy one in Singapore from the third quarter of this year. It won't cost much more than a regular Mini Cooper S, meaning an estimated price of S$160,000 or so, inclusive of Certificate of Entitlement. That puts it at the lower end of electric car pricing, with bigger battery-powered offerings from Korea's Hyundai and Kia available for similar money.
