Paris kicks off bid to host 2024 Summer Olympics games

    PARIS kicked off its bid to host the 2024 Summer Olympics on Tuesday in the presence of French politicians and athletes, and appeared to be hoping that this time would be a charm.

    Paris bid for - and lost out on - the games for 2008, which went to Beijing, and 2012, which were in London.
