HE was a familiar figure on the badminton courts - at home and abroad. A multi-national shuttle champion, both in singles and doubles competition, Lau Wing Cheok's courtcraft was something to be admired in the 1980s.

These days, the 56-year-old is making an impact on the golf courses. Only 10 years into the game, the talented single-handicapper (6.7 handicap index) is a recognised league player at the Raffles Country Club.
