SUN Xueling, Minister of State for Social and Family Development, together with Dennis Tan, Prudential Singapore's CEO; Poh Leong Berg, president of The Boys' Brigade in Singapore; and Rahayu Buang, KidStart Singapore's CEO, visited two families who are beneficiaries of Healthy with KidStart on Dec 2, with items such as care packs comprising fresh produce of fruits and vegetables for them.

Healthy with KidStart is an early childhood nutrition programme, a collaboration between KidStart and Prudential, which will benefit 1,300 families. Tan said: "Building a healthy community is part of Prudential's commitment to helping people live well for longer. To this end, good nutrition is essential in supporting young children's overall growth and development."

The initiative is aimed at promoting healthy eating habits among children aged 0-6 years old, as good nutrition during this stage is crucial to their development.

Sun said: "It takes a whole-of-society effort to give every child a good start in life. In these pandemic times, we need to watch out more carefully for vulnerable families, especially those with young children. Under KidStart and in partnership with our corporate partners, we are intensifying our efforts to reach out to vulnerable families to make sure that our young children are developing well, eating healthily and meeting their milestones."

Rahayu concurred and said: "The Healthy with KidStart programme helps families feel less worried about food insecurity. At the same time, it provides fresh and healthy options for meals."
