COINCIDENCE or not, several rare feats in world sport were achieved on Easter Sunday.
Rising from the embers of an ongoing spat about the use of sponsor funds which could lead to fire-spitting on the Football Association of Singapore's historic election on April 29 by the two contesting camps, April 16 was a great day when sport unveiled a host of first-time champions.
They relied on the words of American Olympic athlete Steve Prefontaine that "most people run a race to see who is fastest, I run a race to see who has the most GUTS" to achieve the unthinkable.
