LOSING a job is a blow to almost anyone. Losing it due to the indiscretion of a colleague, who was a friend, is a double whammy. That was what happened to A.
She and B were colleagues, as well as former school mates. Hence, though in different departments, the two would meet after office hours to shoot the breeze.
Now, B, for reasons unknown, betrayed A's confidence and divulged incriminating contents of conversations and text messages to the higher-ups, which resulted in a compliance investigation and ultimately, the unsubtle "order" of A's resignation.
