SGX Cares held its 18th annual Bull Charge Charity Run at Event Square @ Marina Bay on Friday (Oct 29).

Flagged off by Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing, 18 VIPs - including CEOs from Merrill Lynch and iFast - and Team Singapore athlete Amanda Ng kickstarted the 3.2 km Chief Challenge. This was followed by the Mass Run, which was held virtually. Four thousand participants will run over 10 days at their own pace. This year's event features an updated mobile app with real-time GPS mapping.

SGX Cares Bull Charge chairman and SGX head of Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities Lee Beng Hong said: "By collaborating with our partners and the financial community, we are confident that we can find new ways to extend a helping hand to our beneficiaries. We look forward to creating positive change and driving opportunities for a brighter, more sustainable future."

The amount raised at the run will go to 5 charities - which include AWWA Ltd, Autism Association (Singapore) - through Community Chest.

Besides the Bull Charge Charity Run, SGX Cares recently concluded its Season of Giving event where 10 athletes from Sports SG joined Singapore Exchange staff to pack and deliver 1,000 goodie bags to Fei Yue Senior Activity Centres across Singapore over two days on Oct 14 and 19.

TeamSG netballer Angelina Lim said: "It was a very meaningful experience to have interacted with members of the community that we don't usually meet, and to be part of something that's bigger than ourselves. I am amazed by how easy it is to make conversation with the elderly - and it made me appreciate physical interaction with people a lot more, especially during this time when Covid restricts us to our homes, and the elderly have fewer opportunities to connect with others."
