Sing better at karaoke, help a budding artist

HOMEGROWN Company Charaku - the company behind Popsical, a smart, portable, cloud-based karaoke streaming system - has introduced Popsical Remix, an all-in-one mixer and receiver for two wireless microphones.

With the latest release, Popsical has been combined with the mixer, wireless receiver for the microphones, and streaming device into a single equipment - a palm-sized device that weighs less than one kg and can easily be carried around in a small bag.

Popsical Remix grants the user access to a self-updating library of over 200,000 songs in 14 different languages, which are licensed from RIMSS (Recording Industry Music Services Singapore) and COMPASS (Composers and Authors Society of Singapore).

The self-updating library of songs is stored in the cloud and boasts other features including a track request feature, track list queue and accommodating connectivity with multiple devices. Faruq Marican, co-founder of Popsical and chief executive officer of parent company Charaku, said: "Karaoke is a favourite pastime of many people around the world, but it's not always readily accessible or well-designed. With Popsical Remix, anyone can now sing all their favourite songs in their best voice with the pitch correction effect or the various voice modulation effects - like that of a chipmunk."

Popsical is also committed to helping young budding artists find their voices and strives to support aspiring artists.

To achieve this, Popsical will be donating 5 per cent of the proceeds from the sales of the Popsical Remix on its e-commerce store, popsical.

com from Jan 17 to Feb 16 to The Business Times Budding Artists Fund (BT BAF), which benefits more than 17,000 children and youths through a variety of arts programmes such as workshops and structured lessons in music, dance, theatre and visual arts.

BT BAF strongly believes in the importance of the arts in the development of character in young people, and this donation can help us provide more opportunities to nurture the musical interests and talents of children in Singapore to fulfil their potential."
