LEWIS Hamilton might have won the Singapore Grand Prix this year but the four-year Formula 1 extension by Singapore scored a few points of its own, according to a global media intelligence firm Meltwater.
Friday's announcement of a renewal until 2021 was well-received online, with roughly three quarters of Singaporeans reacting positively to the news. Meltwater analysed online reactions in the lead-up and during the F1 weekend between Sept 13-18 and found a further 23 per cent remained neutral, while one per cent reacted negatively to the news. However, it only looked at online posts, scanning some 40,000 public posts on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and forums such as HardwareZone and reddit.
