IT IS always better to chase a dream than defend a crown. Motivation oozes in the former, and pressure builds up in the latter situation.
A case in point was Singapore's men's water polo team at the ongoing South-east Asian Games in Manila. The players were stressed and under duress over protecting their long winning streak - 27 times since the sport's debut in 1965 - at the biennial games and eventually landed just the bronze medal.
