Singtel donates S$20m to National Gallery Singapore
In return, museum dedicates three spaces from old City Hall building as Singtel Special Exhibition Gallery
Singapore
SINGAPORE Telecommunications (Singtel) announced on Monday its support for the National Gallery Singapore in a partnership that will see a S$20 million contribution from the telco - one of the largest corporate endowments the Gallery has received. Singtel joins DBS, UOB and Keppel Corporation as the gallery's main corporate sponsors.
As a result of the latest contribution, the museum dedicated three spaces from the old City Hall building - totalling about 20,000 square feet - as the Singtel Special Exhibition Gallery. Special exhibitions are set to be twice-yearly shows with the first one slated to open in April 2016; the museum itself is to open in October this year.
