FOR a small and medium enterprise owner (SME), only two cars represent the gold standard in how the directors should get around: the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.

But there's always a time when an enterprise is more at the S than the M side of things, in which case there is a sweet spot in its towkay's choice of car. It's a space occupied by the likes of the Toyota Camry or Mazda 6, which offer many of the trappings of a luxury car but don't come with the overt status of one.
