Taking heart
SingPost brings CNY cheer
SingPost paid tribute to senior residents in Kolam Ayer at a Chinese New Year celebration on March 3. Over 30 staff volunteers including pioneer generation postmen mingled with some 120 senior residents. The residents were treated to yusheng, food and entertainment in an open hall near their flats. SingPost staff also distributed hongbaos, Mandarin oranges and two bags of essential food items. Under SingPost's Food Goodie Bag programme, SingPost staff donate, pack, and deliver food items to the needy elderly staying in one-room flats in Kolam Ayer, providing them with a fuller larder every quarter.
Separately, City Developments Ltd's (CDL) senior management representatives and volunteers from City Sunshine Club (CSC) - CDL's employee volunteer platform - celebrated the spring festival by treating nearly 50 elderly residents from the Henderson Senior Citizens' Home to lunch at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore's Grand Shanghai restaurant.
