Taking persons with disabilities on a Ubin tour

EVEN the choppy waters could not dampen the spirits of the group of 115 persons with disabilities at the second Wheels@Ubin event held last Friday.
After a successful debut in 2015, the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) Fast Craft Utility vessels and SMRT taxis returned to ferry the beneficiaries, along with more than 680 volunteers and caregivers, to a tour around Pulau Ubin.
This year's beneficiaries, which include wheelchair-users and individuals experiencing some form of disability such as muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy, come from the Ang Mo Kio Family Service Centre (AMKFSC), Bedok Youth Society for the Disabled (BYSD), Muscular D…
