IT'S the start of a brand new golf calendar year and many professional tours have already released their tournament schedules for 2015. The Business Times highlights some upcoming local, regional and global events taking place this year.
Maybank Malaysian Open
Singapore hasn't hosted a National Open since 2012 so it's worth a trip over the causeway this year to catch some of the top European and Asian tour pros in action. Last year's event was won by Englishman Lee Westwood and he will be back to defend his title in this year's US$3 million tournament which marks Maybank's 10th year as title sponsor. He will be joined by Ryder Cup teammates Paul McGinley and Graeme McDowell in addition to a host of top Asian players. The event takes place from Feb 5-8 at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club.
