A newly-imagined world under the sea
Singapore
AT just nine years old, Mea Maryam-Mirza is already thinking out of the box. Her large acrylic painting on a 90cm by 60cm canvas is called World Of Colours. It depicts life under the sea, but not quite how we're used to seeing it.
She says: "I wanted to capture the beauty of the ocean and nature. I imagine an ocean where air bubbles are like bubblegum and flowers can grow. I also imagine aquatic trees with colourful coral patterns growing in brightly coloured waters. I hope other people will brighten up when they see what I've imagined."
