Hong Leong Foundation - the charity arm of Hong Leong Group Singapore - took some 130 elderly people (aged 60 to 100) for a day-trip to Hong Kong.

The virtual trip was broadcast live via Zoom and was meant to celebrate Chinese New Year with the elderly from 6 senior homes.

The "holiday" on Feb 8 was part of Hong Leong Foundation's annual charity event, which includes cash contributions of S$508,650 to 3,391 beneficiaries under the Ministry of Social and Family Development's ComCare Long-Term Assistance scheme.

Hong Leong Foundation's donations have totalled S$1.35 million for the year 2021.

Kingston Kwek, a governor of Hong Leong Foundation, said: "We hope to bring back the joy and nostalgia of a 'holiday' while our seniors soak in the Lunar New Year festivities. What made this virtual trip extra special was the interactive element of the tour.
