THE Singapore Art Gallery Weekend in collaboration with The Straits Wine Company is welcoming 30 readers of The Business Times (BT) to an art tour at Singapore’s high-end art gallery cluster, Gillman Barracks.

They will be taken to six galleries there – Yeo Workshop, Fost Gallery, Ota Fine Arts, Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Mizuma Gallery and Richard Koh Fine Art – where they will be introduced to the gallery and artworks on display by an expert guide from Friends Of The Museum. At each stop, they will also have an opportunity to sip specially selected wines from Straits Wine’s portfolio of boutique wineries, that will speak to various elements and aspects of the artworks.

The art crawl will end with drinks and canapes at Yeo Workshop, as well as a gift for all attendees.

This exclusive readers’ event will take place on Saturday, Sep 30, from 4 pm to 6.30 pm. The meeting point is at Block 9, Lock Road, Gillman Barracks. The ticket price is S$40 and can be purchased at bt.sg/btxart

Dylan Tan, BT’s membership editor, says: “We hope to connect more deeply with BT readers through this gallery hop and what better way than to start the weekend than with some wine and art.”

Audrey Yeo, president of the Art Galleries Association Singapore, organiser of the Gallery Weekend, says: “This year’s edition of the Singapore Art Gallery Weekend is unique in its collaborations with various partners outside of the art industry. We’re working with companies like Straits Wine, one of Singapore’s leading wine retailers and distributors, to open up new audiences both for art and for wine.”

Besides the special wine and art crawl for BT readers, the Gallery Weekend features other events, from lifestyle-themed talks to public parties, with partners such as The Mondrian Hotel, Mandala Club and Kiehl’s.
