INSURER AIA Singapore and English Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur last week organised a four-day football clinic, which offered aspiring footballers the chance to sharpen their skills and learn from the club’s development coaches.
The first session on Jun 3 was conducted for about 100 young beneficiaries of Children’s Wishing Well, Shine Children and Youth, and Montfort Care. They took part in various drills and friendly mini tournaments.
The fourth and final day of the clinic on Jun 6 coincided with the World Cup 2026 qualifying match between Singapore and South Korea at the National Stadium in Kallang. Eleven children from the clinic were picked to walk out on the pitch at the start of the match alongside the players.
“Giving back to the community and nurturing future generations form the cornerstone of our mission of enabling healthier, longer, better lives for everyone,” said AIA Singapore.
“Inspiring healthy and more active lifestyles through football is one aspect of this, as we believe that football is a unifying sport that brings together individuals and communities from all walks of life.”
Since 2022, all proceeds raised from the AIA football clinics’ ticket registration sales have been channelled to the AIA Better Lives Fund, which aims to provide children, youth and their families with opportunities for education, growth and development.
