Edo Pop - The Graphic Impact of Japanese Prints: View over 60 pieces of ukiyo-e prints and ukiyo-e inspired works from Japan's Edo period (1615-1868) from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts (MIA), Singapore Art Museum and STPI. Edo Pop: The Graphic Impact of Japanese Prints highlights a popular art form of woodblock prints and paintings used to depict the lives and hobbies of the Japanese people during that period. Ukiyo-e was also an inspiration for prominent European artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet and more.
The exhibition features five themes and gives viewers a glimpse into the dynamic culture of Edo society made colourful by samurais, geishas and kabuki theatre actors. (See review)
