IF you wish to do business in Mexico, you should find a good local partner and cultivate personal relationships first.
"Mexicans are known to close important deals with either friends or family. Hence, cultivating personal relations is critical to a company's success in Mexico," said Francisco Rios, centre director of International Enterprise (IE) Singapore's Mexico Overseas Centre.
The upcoming Spotlight Singapore Mexico City, organised by Global Cultural Alliance (GCA), wants to help Singapore entrepreneurs do just that. Anyone interested in doing business in Mexico - a gateway to the largest consumer market in the world, the United States - is encouraged to sign up for its week-long trip to Mexico City.
