THERE is an audacity about Ion Orchard, with its lit, faceted façade and towering controversial artworks. And even after a slew of newer malls have been unveiled since its opening five years ago, most of which replicated its brash, LED-illuminated exterior, ION Orchard has retained its ability to engage with the shopping strip's savviest visitors.

"Transformational shopping experience is at the heart of what we do," declares Chris Chong, chief executive officer of Orchard Turn Developments. "Our service standards and multi-sensory ambience have set new benchmarks for the industry."

Every year, the mall stages a mini extravaganza to fete its anniversary and shout about its status as the retail destination for competitors to beat. Previously, an outdoor fashion and music concert has been staged with the likes of Lee Hom and Carrie Underwood adding star wattage and high energy to Singapore's retail boulevard as fashion and pop cultural groupies alike gathered at the outdoor atrium.
