Art takes a leaf from the Internet

TODAY, most of us can't imagine life without the Internet and social media. Certainly not if you're under 60.

Although Internet-related art isn't a new phenomenon, the Singapore audience will get a concentrated dose of it in a few weeks' time, thanks to the Kitakyushu Biennial which travels here from Japan.

The Private Museum is co-organiser of event - with the theme "i(information)" - which will focus on collaborative works by artists, derived from fragments of information from the Internet. "It's presenting the manipulations of media information in a rapidly changing world within a private museum context," explains Tan Hwee Koon, The Private Museum's artistic director.
